The County of Santa Clara, is known as "Silicon Valley," and because of its combination of physical attractiveness and economic diversity. It has one of the standards of living in the country due to its numerous natural amenities and mild year-round weather. Located at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay Area, it is 1,312 square miles large. Lying along the west slope of the Diablo Range and the Santa Cruz Mountains to the south, it has been the home to fruit orchards now replaced with a sprawling development of family-friendly communities and neighborhoods. The County is the major employment center for the area, offering more than a 25% of all jobs in the entire Bay Area. Attracting people from all over the world, this area has one of the highest median family incomes and boasts a wide variety of diversity of cultures.
